Monthly Update
It’s been a busy month. Hot on the heels of February’s response to the CEC Housing Strategy Consultation we have submitted two further responses as part of our work on policy advocacy. Firstly to the Government’s working paper on development and nature recovery, part of the Planning & Infrastructure Bill.
Then this week we submitted a response to the consultation on the Cheshire & Warrington Local Nature Recovery Strategy. You can read more about our response and access the full submission at this blog. The consultation closes this Monday – 31 March, so there is not much time left for people to respond to what will be an important document for shaping nature recovery in our area.
Did you see: Tom’s blog this month on “What is peat?”, a great resource if you have questions about peat.
Spring is just getting going on the Moss, the featured image above is one of the willow blossoms that have burst open over the last week.
Thank-you to everyone who supported this month’s Pub Quiz
We can’t thank everyone who came along and supported our RedWillow Macclesfield Pub Quiz enough! It was a great evening and raised an incredible £469 for the legal and restoration fund. There was a cracking 3-way tie-break decided on the question of how much carbon dioxide would be released if Danes Moss is developed (answers on this key facts page on the website).
A massive thanks to everyone at Red Willow Brewery for hosting and donating some great prizes. Also thank-you to everyone else who supported with raffle prizes, including The Lime Tree Bollington, Skylark Garden Design and Hilary Jack.
Celebrating: World Frog Day. Did you see our post celebrating frogs and toads on the Moss?
